When you feel that knot in your stomach—whether it’s shame, fear, or anxiety—you can ask yourself:

  • What am I believing right now? About God, about myself, about my salvation? Write it down!
  • What does Scripture say? How has God revealed himself to us? What has he said is our identity? What does it say about how he is working in us? Again, write it down.
  • How can walking according to this truth relieve me of my shame, fear, and anxiety?
